Mitt Romney for President My Man Mitt

Mitt Romney for President My Man Mitt

I thought this website was well put together. I'm just so sure that Romney is the best person for the job that it hurts to realize that someone like Huckabee can do so much damage to Romney's chances.

The Cockcroft's and Obedience Neel

Although this website is dated back a few years, it is the only link I can make for my Obedience Neel Noyes Barks with the Cockcroft family. The letter contained, here, from Lewis (Beedy's brother), is a gem! Reading it confirms to me that they were from Georgia, where Obedience did in fact, marry Mr. Barks.

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

This is a website that seems to go beyond genealogy. It digs right into the heart and history of the LDS people and their love of family and church. Use its links to enrich your interest in family history and religion.

Enrichment Clubs

Our Relief Society leaders are working hard on our behalf to give us an excellent Enrichment Club activity, as often as we want or as often as we can attend. Now, Jessica just needs to know which clubs you are interested in and the times that you are available.

Here's my feedback:
  • Cooking, Lunch Bunch--I've attended two of these activities so far and they were both great! Learning to make sushi, or learning to eat sushi was a fun thing to do gathered around the table at Cheryl's house. I'm looking forward to more of these activities. Wednesday's are good for me!
  • Crafts: I'm interested in this subject--sewing, crochet, etc., but only as a student. My own skills are very minimal. Not sure if I could get to this event before summer, though. And not sure when I could attend during the week. However, after I get my house picked up and decluttered (a ten year task), I would love to host one of these classes.
  • Service--keep it simple, silly. If I can come up with any other thoughts on this, I will let y'all know!
Well, you all have the list and it requires some in-depth attention, which I don't have a lot of at this time of night. I like the sound of the Hymn Appreciation thing and I could contribute to the financial class (all of my learned lessons and failed resolutions)! Self-sufficiency sounds a little dull or hard, but I could add something to the computer aspect, I think. Piano, reading music classes--again I could add a little, but am a little rusty on technique. I am finding it hard to sing louder at church with my bouts of bronchitis.

Even if you just put in for one of these clubs, you'll be improving yourself in some area; inviting a less active person to attend would also be a good way to fellowship--we're very social with this, you know.

FlowChart.pdf.pdf (application/pdf Object)

Although this flow chart is a little bit technical, try to wade through it and see what you think. Will it be helpful to FHC staffmembers, to High Priest Group Leaders, etc.? Can a simpler, one-page chart be created?

I'm not sure, yet, what information is available at this website and I realize that few of us will be able to go to Utah to receive training. However, if you do go West, please consider attending one of the classes provided, here.

8x - One Night With the King

I recommend this movie for those who love the stories in the Old Testament. I would see it again.

Help Needed

Have you got any of the following on hand, that you can spare, that is?
  • Time and energy to help provide transportation to and from appointments for a cancer patient.
  • Inspirational, Funny, or Positive LDS videos, dvd's or audio tapes.
  • The book series, "Hugs".
  • The old movie, "Pippi Longstockings".
  • Time and energy to visit a sister in need of cheering up or take her out for a jaunt to the Dollar Store.
If so, please contact me, Margaret M. Harris, and I'll give you the contact info for this person/family who could use a little support right now, even if it's only a phone call or a card.
